Wider opportunities are an important part of life at St Laurence CE Junior Academy. We believe that children learn best when they are given the chance to explore new experiences, develop talents and discover interests beyond the classroom. Through a wide range of enrichment opportunities, we aim to broaden children’s horizons, build confidence and help every child to flourish.

Throughout the year, pupils are offered opportunities to take part in educational visits, sporting events, performances, clubs, leadership roles and community projects. These experiences help children to develop resilience, teamwork, creativity and independence whilst creating lasting memories and a love of learning.

We are proud to provide a range of wider opportunities including sporting competitions, music and performance events, Worship Shepherds, school council, charity and community work, curriculum enrichment days and after school clubs. Wherever possible, we aim to ensure that all children are able to access and benefit from these experiences.

Our wider opportunities support the development of the whole child and reflect our commitment to nurturing confident, compassionate and aspirational young people who are prepared for life beyond primary school.
