SIAMS
SIAMS inspections are carried out under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005 and provide a consistent way of evaluating Church of England and Methodist schools. The inspection considers how effective the school is as a church school and how well its Christian vision shapes the life, learning and development of the whole school community.

The inspection focuses particularly on the impact of the school’s provision and considers:

How the school’s Christian character supports and includes all learners

The impact of collective worship on pupils, staff and the wider school community

The quality and effectiveness of religious education

How well leaders and governors support and develop the school as a Church of England school

What have we done since our last inspection?

Since our last inspection, we have made the biblical roots of our vision much clearer and more meaningful for children. We have fully adopted the image of the sheep and the parable of the Lost Sheep, using child-friendly texts such as One Sheep Short by Bob Hartman and Mark Beech to help pupils understand that every child is known, noticed and cared for. We have also introduced more relevant artwork, displays and spaces around the school so that our vision is visible and memorable.

We have embedded more planned opportunities for spiritual and character development through Big Questions, collective worship, RE, Picture News, Big Start Assemblies, prayer spaces and reflection activities. We have worked closely with ACTS to support us on this spiritual journey, providing valuable opportunities for children to learn from other people, hear different perspectives and take part in meaningful prayer and reflection experiences.

Pupil leadership has also grown through our Worship Shepherds, while our implementation of the Thrive Approach supports the vision by helping us understand children’s individual needs, develop their emotional wellbeing and ensure that every child feels known, found and loved.
